Some music information retrieval (MIR) tasks can be solved if we prepare the data from appropriate rhythm-based video games. To treat rhythm-based video games as a subject of study, we need to capture the characteristics of the game. In this paper, we classify rhythm-based video games into several categories to find each game’s characteristics. We also exhibit an example of creating a dataset from a rhythm-based video game called “Taiko no Tatsujin.”
