When planning a trip with multiple people, participants often have different values and preferences, and as the number of participants increases, discussions tend to become scattered or stall. Even if the organizer is entrusted with leading the planning, there is no guarantee that all participants’ opinions will be fully reflected. To address this challenge, we propose “Hang Out King (HOK).” This is a digital application that allows participants to attach their preferences and the reasons behind them to spot information throughout the entire planning process. Evaluation results suggest that HOK enabled both positive and negative preferences to be treated as discussion points, thereby promoting mutual understanding among participants. Furthermore, by explicitly presenting discussion topics on individual cards, HOK helped maintain the focus of the conversation and facilitated accurate reference to shared information. On the other hand, challenges specific to the online environment were also observed, such as variations in participation levels, delays in final decisions, redundant comments, and periods of silence.
